Creek Fire Response

On behalf of the entire Ponderosa family, we extend our deepest condolences to the many families who have lost homes, businesses, possessions and treasured memories in the tragic Creek Fire. We are grateful for your personal safety. Ponderosa is committed to doing all it can to restore communication services to all areas impacted by this devastation and to allow our valued customers to begin the rebuilding process.

We are working to keep you connected as one of the largest wildfires in California’s history continues to burn inside our service territory. While the impacts of the Creek Fire are still being measured, we want to update our customers on the emergency procedures we’ve implemented and let you know recovery efforts are well underway.

As with any natural disaster, communication is vital for mobilizing first responders and ensuring public safety. Our trained technicians were quick to establish internet and voice services to the fire command centers in Fresno and Madera counties. We’ve also worked closely with the wireless companies in our service area, securing their critical network circuits that serve the Ponderosa area.

Ponderosa is actively monitoring the Creek Fire and coordinating all response plans with emergency officials. We understand the disruption and hardship the Creek Fire has caused our customers. Restoring internet and voice services after a natural disaster is a multi-step process. Once our crews receive permission to enter the wildfire zones, response teams start the inspections, assess the damage, coordinate the response and begin the restoration. Additionally, we are making every effort to provide backup power to our network equipment until commercial power is restored. We thank you for your patience and understanding in what may be a longer than normal restoration process. We encourage you to call our office at 559-868-6000 to report any trouble or concerns. From our family to yours, please stay safe.
